For 4 long years, the Smith Family talked about remodeling their kitchen.  Back and forth they went about functionality, design style and selecting the perfect company to bring their dream space to life.

On a chilly Friday in January of 2018, they visited our E.W. Kitchens showroom and began the collaborative journey to transform their former space into the kitchen of their dreams.    We are incredibly grateful that they discovered E.W. Kitchens and trusted us to exceed their expectations by elevating this four year “topic of discussion” to the stunning heart of their home.

As a busy family of four, the Smiths knew their remodel wouldn’t be a small feat.  Walls would need to come down to expand their space and allow the room for an expansive island. Serious functionality in this space was crucial, as it often housed the local high school girls’ volleyball team celebrations (go black hawks!).

During the progression of their kitchen design process, the Smiths found that their dreams were evolving.  They found themselves deviating from their original vision of the space.  The initial plan to utilize dramatic colors transformed into a yearning for a more “Zen” sanctuary.   They mindfully selected creamy white painted maple Mouser Cabinetry,  deliciously subtle subway tile for their backsplash, and white quartz countertops. To complete this warm and inviting sanctuary, they chose reclaimed barn wood floating shelves which provides an aesthetically pleasing contrast to the sleek backsplash.

Upon finalization of their cabinetry selection, creative design inspired a terrific twist presented by the savvy Smiths.  They came across a uniquely beautiful slab of granite that was a must for their dream space.  By deciding to trade their white quartz countertops for the sumptuously gray honed granite slab,  our client was able to reintroduce a bit of the dramatic color that they had originally envisioned in their space.  We filled their kitchen cabinetry with a number of must have accessories to help this busy family function at its peak efficiency.  Some of our absolutely favorite additions were the built-in paper towel holder, the double pull out trash/recycling cans, the drawer charging station, and the built-in file holder drawer.  Can you say life-changing!?

We’d say this kitchen was well worth the wait!  Bon Appetit and many thanks for your enthusiasm and insight, Smith Family.
