The WOW of Walnut

With rich, warm tones and distinctive grain patterns, walnut cabinets add a touch of natural beauty and sophistication to any space. In this space, we juxtapositioned the walnut next to the clean, crisp and completely classic white cabinetry perimeter.  The walnut brings significance warmth to the space and creates a balance with the contrast.  In our opinion, this is a classic duo that’s totally meant to be.

Moody Vibes

The mixture of Maple cabinetry, stained in “ash” and painted in “iron” brings a bold and moody vibe to this kitchen remodel.  By opening up 2 rooms, we were able to offer ample space for an eat-in island with four-times the amount of countertop space.  The slab door styles, clean-lined backsplash tile and sleek gold accents offer a warmth to the often cold modern design.

Double the Stains, Double the Beauty

Let’s talk harmony!  Perfection comes in the form of harmony in this newly remodeled kitchen featuring the use of two types of stains on Alder cabinetry.  The patterned backsplash works as an ideal baseline to make the use of the varying stains compatible throughout the expansive remodeled space.  By keeping the marble countertops light, the design remains natural and still feels airy and spacious.  Double islands make for both a functional space and a space focused on entertaining… double the islands, double the beauty.

The Entertainer’s Dream Outdoor Kitchen

This outdoor Entertainer’s Dream is packed full of function and beauty.  Between the Wolf grills, ice makers and under cabinet refrigerators, you’ll find the our foodie homeowner’s dream smoker and pizza oven.  On sunny days you can find the retractable pergola open with the pool and lounge stations bursting with activity.  During Michigan’s cooler seasons, there’s still plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors in this incredible space, but especially next to the oversized fire table cozied up and watching your favorite game.

Rustic Vibes

Classic finishes like ebony shaker cabinetry, a wood wrapped range hood  and farmhouse sink were selected in this modern rustic kitchen renovation.  The star of the kitchen, however, is the reclaimed barnwood wrapped island. The charm of this kitchen continues with the use of neutral accessories like the barstools and décor.  The use of a lighter barnwood for the island contrasts beautifully next to the dark perimeter of the kitchen.

Shifting to Warmer Tones

The shift towards warmer and more natural tones is here and it’s something we’ve been waiting for!  Stained cabinetry is classic, authentic, and timeless.  Alder, specifically, adds subtle dimension and texture to a space and we love that our clients took a risk and added it not only to the range hood and island, but also the dry bar area and fridge area.  The warmth of the stained wood balances nicely the white painted cabinetry, the brushed nickel hardware and compliments the polished granite that incorporates the dark and light hues of the cabinetry.

Traditional Two-Tone

White kitchens are loved for their timeless appeal and endless versatility and can easily transform a tired looking kitchen into a bright, reinvigorated space.  There’s no such thing as too much white, but it is important to be intentional, like this traditional two-tone reno we recently wrapped up.  The contrast of the stained island makes a memorable and dramatic effect by contrasting the bright white perimeter.  The incorporation of extra details, like the mullion glass cabinet doors, as well as the ornate details on the island legs and custom wood range hood truly make this kitchen a gem.

The Perfectly Neutral Kitchen

We are absolutely infatuated with this light and airy kitchen renovation that we’ve so accurately dubbed, “Perfectly Neutral Kitchen”.  This small space packs a punch of function with a free-standing pantry hutch, built in bookcase for cookbooks and functional add-ons in nearly every drawer.  This soft hue of cabinetry is as timeless as white or gray but warmer, making it easier on the eyes and helping this space feel less stark.  It pairs effortlessly with the accent color of polished chrome in the fixtures and hardware.  This kitchen is our definition of a truly great neutral space.

Elegant, yet Modern

This sophisticated condo renovation was designed in Mouser Custom Cabinetry, featuring an inset white perimeter contrasted with a beautifully grained red oak island and range hood.  Using this medium-toned oak as an accent stain in the space keeps the feeling open and airy, especially with the all the natural light.  The decorative detail of the cabinetry certainly makes this component the focal point of the kitchen with the gorgeously veined quartz tops and statement lighting becoming a close second.

Making Quarter Sawn Oak Modern

Coveted for its light color and dramatic grain, quarter sawn white oak is one of the most desired cabinet materials of the moment and this kitchen shows exactly why!  This beautiful Mouser Cabinetry provides variation and warmth but a beautiful consistency and neutral tone.  By incorporating black accents like the range hood, bar accent doors and beautifully honed marble countertop the space becomes instantly modern and chic.  The addition of the warm champagne hardware and faucet brings balance to the modern accents and classic oak cabinetry.

A Modern Stunner

The perfect blend of modern and transitional style is the best way to describe this astonishing kitchen renovation.  Regardless of where you look in this kitchen, you are met with beauty.  The black matte cabinetry makes quite a statement next to the rich, inset walnut cabinetry.  The addition of a heavily veined quartz countertop as well as backsplash, provides the perfect balance to the darker hued cabinetry and truly lightens up the space.  Modern style was pushed even further through the addition of the minimalist lighting and black matte appliances.

“Details are not the details.  They make the design”

We’re quoting Charles Eames here because the details in this kitchen remodel are absolutely over the top incredible.  The crisp white cabinetry accents beautifully next to the black metal copper hood, warm blue island and gorgeous quartzite countertops. This incredible space also features a dry bar with the cabinet backs removed to further showcase the stunning, shiny picket backsplash.

Clean Simplicity

What happens when your kitchen is closed in and blocked off to the rest of the living space?  You take down a wall and lighten things up with a cool (in every sense of the word) new white kitchen!  Our entertaining loving clients opted for an oversized extended island for friends to gather and a dry bar perfect for serving up refreshments.  While the style of this space leans more traditional with white cabinetry and chunky trim and crown molding, the colors of the beveled subway tile backsplash and quartz veining really keep the space clean and simple.

A combination of rich colors, exquisite craftsmanship and an eye for detail across all touch points truly describes the unique identify of the Ralph Lauren Lake House.  The finest of details was incorporated into this space from mix of the knotty alder perimeter and the distressed black island.  Incorporating different textures, like the oversized hammered copper range hood and luxurious marble countertops bring this kitchen to the next level of elegance.

Hooray for Hickory!

From dated and dark to lighted and chic, this kitchen renovation hits all the marks!  With the combination of upper white cabinetry and hickory cabinetry on the island and lower cabinets, this kitchen offers a the perfect balance and neutral addition to this home.  By incorporating champagne bronze elements in the hardware, lighting and plumbing we were able to achieve such a warm contrast to the white quartz countertops and textured subway tiled backsplash.

One-of-a-Kind Personality: Painted & Stained Cabinetry

One of a kind personality and custom style is the best way to describe this new construction kitchen which so perfectly unites painted cabinetry with stained cabinetry.  The rich stained island, which matches the corner floating shelves and pantry door, warms up the neutral cream perimeter cabinetry that extends to the beverage area and into the pantry.  By keeping the perimeter of the kitchen neutral with light cabinetry, unadorned quartz, and a simple subway tile, the contrast with the dark stained island with beautifully veined granite becomes the perfect pop of contrast.

White + Wood Combo

When designing their dream home, the Guastella Family knew the focal point of the space would need to be their kitchen, which not only had to be stunning enough to compete with the views of the lake in their backyard but also large enough to replace a formal dining room.  An oversized island was designed in cherry wood with a slightly distressed finish, giving off a subtle contrast to the perimeter of the Irish cream cabinetry.  The space, designed around entertaining,  includes both a coffee and pull-out dry bar area in addition to functional items like drawer organizers, spice racks and utensils holders.  The space was elevated to the next level by leathering the granite countertop making it feel like a truly unique element in the room.  We wish you many boat rides and beautiful sunsets in your new home, Guastella Family!

A Dramatic Turn of Design

Design takes a dramatic turn in this remodel with a successful mix of contrasting colors, luxurious finishes and custom textures.  The stark white cabinetry pops beautifully when paired with the deep ebony island and luxuriously veined quartzite countertops.  The details added in the custom mullion refrigerator panels with leaded glass bring an extra layer of drama to the space.  Stainless steel materials also make a statement throughout the space as the material was repeated in the apron front sink, cabinetry hardware and tile backsplash.

The classic combination of white cabinetry with a statement blue island makes a BIG statement in this remodeled kitchen.  While the addition of the warm flooring and barn door adds a laidback feel to this space, the more formal buffet area with open shelving charms it right up and gives our homeowners a more formal area to showcase some of their prized possessions.

Instant Interest: The Two-Tone Kitchen

This remodel showcases the ever-popular white kitchen but adds in some serious visual interest wherever the eye takes you.  The statement wood island, while narrow, has been designed full of functional add-ons, including plenty of deep drawer space for pots and pans.  We love the chunky mitered edge granite top that was added – it really makes this  narrow piece pop!  Additional elements included in the design to make it pop include the decorative end panel bookcase, the chunky stacked crown throughout the entire kitchen and the newly added in wet bar, courtesy of taking down a wall and doubling the kitchen space.
